No. In the state of North Carolina, physical therapists have unrestricted direct access capabilities which allows us to see patients without seeing their doctor first. We are highly trained to help you determine if a visit with your physician is necessary and will refer when needed. If you are unsure about whether to see your physician first, feel free to reach out and we can discuss your situation in more detail.
No! One of our goals is to spread the word about pelvic health and help women find help for conditions that are often overlooked in the medical field, but in addition to our skills in women’s health, we are also highly trained in orthopedic physical therapy.
Dr. Courtney is a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, which required extensive hours of training and self-study along side a Fellowship trained physical therapist highly skilled in manual therapy. Less than 10% of physical therapists hold a board certification in the U.S. This means that Dr. Courtney can more accurately diagnose orthopedic conditions, deliver treatments that are supported by the most updated research, and ultimately get you better faster with less visits.
The short answer is no. We do not accept insurance because we do not directly bill our claims to your insurance company. We are considered a cash-based physical therapy clinic which means that we are viewed as “out of network providers” by insurance companies. We are considered a “Fee for service” provider which means that you pay the amount agreed upon at the time of your session and can later seek reimbursement via a superbill that can be provided upon request. See below for more details on the reimbursement process.
Absolutely! At the time of your visit, let your therapist know that you would like a superbill to submit to your insurance company. You should be able to download a form from your insurance company’s website to submit along with the superbill provided for reimbursement.
Reimbursement is highly dependent on the specific insurance plan you chose; therefore, all patients interested in seeking reimbursement are encouraged to call their insurance company to inquire about their coverage for seeking “out of network” physical therapy and what this looks like for expenses submitted via a self-claim.
If you have any further questions about this process, feel free to contact us so we can guide you through this process!
Please note - even if you seek physical therapy care at an 'in-network' provider, you may be sent a bill for your physical therapy services after your care if you haven't met your deductible. These bills may come as a surprise and can be difficult to budget for. We urge you to consider the care and attention you're receiving and be sure to get your money's worth via individualized attention at Rebel PT. We are happy to work with you to developed tailored plans catered to your individual needs that you can budget for accordingly.
Absolutely!
Due to declining insurance reimbursement for physical therapy services, often PTs in insurance-based practices are expected to treat multiple patients at the same time or offer appointments that are 30 mins or less.
At Rebel PT, we can offer you the one-on-one time you deserve which in return allows us to deliver better more individualized care to help you reach your goals faster with less visits to our clinic. We offer 60-minute evaluations and follow up treatment sessions in which you will be the only patient treated that hour. You will never be double-booked with other patients or treated by someone else other than your physical therapist. In addition to private treatment sessions, you will have direct contact with your PT throughout the entire process which includes: email/text capabilities, use of a private patient portal where you have access to your treatment notes, private messaging, and your home exercise program.
Patients are advised to wear comfortable clothing that they can easily move in. During the evaluation, you will be put through a movement examination for us to accurately diagnose and treat your condition. At follow up sessions, exercise will be a portion of your treatment session as well; therefore, comfortable clothes are highly recommended.
If you are seeking care for hip or knee pain- please bring shorts so we can better assess and see how you move. We may also need access to the area to provide certain treatments such as dry needling or soft tissue work.
If you are seeking care for neck or shoulder pain- please bring a tank top so that we can see how these areas move. We may also need access to the area to provide certain treatments such as dry needling or soft tissue work.
All scheduling is appointment-only at this time. Please contact us via the email or contact form provided below. After the initial contact, we will be in touch with you to discuss your concerns and interest in physical therapy. At this time, we may reach out for a free 15 minute discovery call to explain our services and method (as required). At Rebel PT, we will only take on patients we feel we can benefit and make their monetary investment worth it. If not, we will try and refer you to the appropriate provider who provide you the best care.
If you're interested in booking an appointment at Rebel PT or you are just curious about our practice and would like additional information, please fill out the contact form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
